Paul – Saxophone

Paul has been involved in music since his 20s. He played drums in bands ranging from soul to blues to pop, and was twice runner-up in a ‘Battle of the Bands’ competition sponsored by local radio stations. He also headlined a music festival for two years running in a rock band called Pugwash. Since then, Paul has been playing saxophone for about 12 years; he has a great love of funk, soul and jazz, and cites James Brown and Tower of Power as his influences. He has played in a show band and has supported the great Geno Washington; he has also played in a 12-piece soul band, and has run another soul band for two years. He has studied music theory and now teaches, in addition to working in a saxophone shop for the past six months. Paul lives and works in Oxfordshire.
